Chicago, IL, US
The Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to convening the world to explore innovative ideas and bring people together to collectively imagine and shape the future of design. Every two years, CAB presents its flagship biennial, activating the Chicago Cultural Center and sites across the city and beyond with exhibitions, programs, and collaborations that highlight community engagement, sustainability, and innovation. Beyond the biennial, CAB extends these conversations year-round through rotating exhibitions at the Chicago Cultural Center, ongoing programming, and events. Always free and open to the public, CAB is North America’s largest international survey of contemporary architecture, art and design. Since its inception in 2015, CAB has hosted five editions: This is a Rehearsal (2023), The Available City (2021), …and other such stories (2019), Make New History (2017), and The State of the Art of Architecture (2015). Across these editions, CAB has presented projects by more than 400 architects, designers, and artists from over 40 countries. CAB is a critical component in the global architecture sphere fostering critical conversations that shape the field of architecture and its impact on the world.
