Design innovative and educational itineraries for cultural institutions and international brands, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Smithsonian Institution, Yale Educational Travel, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and Thrillist. Responsible for every facet of tour development, including request for proposals, program pricing and staff budgets, contract negotiation, drafting copy, incorporating educational content, identifying and training staff, briefing clients, ensuring smooth execution, assessing traveler feedback, and reporting to client. Develop dozens of unique itineraries to destinations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas by cultivating relationships with in-country suppliers that transcend language barriers and navigate diverse business practices. Oversee all aspects of trip design and operation for 30 destinations annually, keeping meticulous records and balancing competing schedules and client priorities. Hire, screen, train, and supervise a roster of 20+ tour managers and subject matter experts, including booking travel arrangements, developing budgets, and analyzing post-tour reports. Conduct pre-departure briefings for tour staff before each program, to include detailed review of on-the-ground logistics, health and safety expectations, individual traveler concerns, and finances. Write copy tailored to distinct client voices and collaborate with guest services and creative team to produce digital and print marketing materials for traveler-facing communications and client proposals. Conducted research and inspections tours in Japan and Argentina to anticipate challenges and refine complex itineraries. Identified needed changes and negotiated with suppliers to ensure the program would exceed the expectations of one of our most demanding clients.
