I am a Partner specializing in communications, media and technology matters who serves as Co-Chair of Covington\'s Technology Industry Group and its global and multi-disciplinary Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) Groups. I represent technology companies, content distributors, trade associations, broadcast companies, investors and other entities with respect to strategic advice, commercial transactions, product counseling, and matters before the FCC and Congress. I have almost three decades of experience advising clients in the communications, media and technology sectors, and have held leadership positions in these practices for almost twenty years. On technology issues, I collaborate with Covington\'s global, multi-disciplinary team to assist companies navigating the complex statutory and regulatory constructs surrounding this evolving area, including legal issues with respect to connected and autonomous vehicles, internet connected devices, artificial intelligence, smart ecosystems, and other IoT products and services.I have deep experience and knowledge with respect to spectrum issues, content acquisition and distribution arrangements, and other policy and business issues facing media and technology companies. My practice includes legislative and regulatory advocacy; negotiation and advice regarding technology transactions; advice with respect to media joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions; content creation, acquisition and distribution advice and negotiations for both traditional and digital platforms; advice regarding media ownership and attribution rules; assistance to investment clients in structuring, evaluating and pursuing potential media investments; and other strategic, regulatory and transactional matters pertinent to media and technology companies.
