Responsible for leading a committed, passionate team of staff, board and other volunteers to carry out the mission of this 44-year old organization. Arise Collective (formerly Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women) offers chaplaincy services and programs, transition education and reentry support to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women, as well as community engagement trainings and presentations for the communities that support them. Our overall goal is to partner with women as they empower themselves with tools and resources so that they can thrive after a prison sentence, rather than simply survive. Tenure includes:• Oversaw twelvefold growth in organization over nine-year period.• Secured historic investments in a new Women’s Reentry Project.• Stewarded successful organizational rebrand, including mission, guiding principles, name, logo, etc. • Expanded key transition and reentry programs and services and oversaw increased post-release reach. • Launched a new Reentry Higher Education Initiative in partnership with a local private college.• Positioned organization to serve in a leadership role in local reentry efforts for the benefit all formerly incarcerated individuals seeking services in Wake County and the surrounding area.• Secured the organization\'s first government funding from both the City and County, including Opioid Settlement Grant funding.• Stewarded use of the expressive arts as a non-political advocacy platform through Conviction: Songs of Faith from Women in Prison, Stitching Stories: A Prison Awareness Quilt, and the new Stitching Stories Reimagined Inclusive Public Arts project.
