I am a storyteller.In the field of analysis where results are preferred high level, I have learned to scale back my words. However, storytelling does not have to be about word count. It can be presenting the information in a concise logical manner that gives meaning to the audience.A storyteller is also a good listener. Tell me your requirements—what are the data points I should provide? How can I add more value? Flexibility is necessary and can result in several drafts before the final finished masterpiece of KPIs is produced.A storyteller is curious. I may ask questions immediately for clarification and other times after absorbing information and composing focused questions for continuous improvement. Why do we do things this way? Could we try this method to streamline and be more efficient? What can we automate?A storyteller is constantly learning in order to create fresh, new stories. Data analysis and visualization is a subject that fascinates me. I enjoyed learning Tableau and Alteryx while in Finance roles, and I recently completed a Power BI course. I have run and edited SQL queries and plan to learn script writing next. I have created formulas, lookups, pivot tables and more in Excel, and continue to explore to become an expert.A storyteller is a teacher. As I learn new skills and processes, I am excited to share this information with others. I prefer training others according to their best learning style. I have created webinars, designed SharePoint team sites, and written job aids to share out to my team and internal customers. I welcome feedback as I strive to ensure the teaching material is meaningful and beneficial.I am a storyteller with a diverse skillset, and I am excited to contribute my skills and learn new ones as I write my next story with another great company—Premera Blue Cross.
