ABOUT JENNIFER JENNY HIGGINS
I am a safety and health leader with a proven track record of driving enterprise-wide safety strategy, cultural transformation, and measurable business results across construction and general industry. My background uniquely bridges clinical rehabilitation, human performance, and safety systems—allowing me to align people, processes, and engineering controls to reduce risk while improving operational performance. Before earning my bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety management, I was a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant specializing in workers’ compensation rehabilitation. I worked directly with injured employees to return them to full duty by developing job-specific, work-simulated activities that ensured safe, unrestricted performance. This experience continues to inform my leadership philosophy: effective safety programs are built by designing systems that fit the worker and the work.As a Safety Director–level leader, I have partnered with executive teams and operational leadership to influence decision-making, guide risk-based priorities, and integrate safety into core business processes. I have led safety committees, presented risk and performance metrics to senior leadership, and supported organizational change through strategic planning, governance, and accountability.I hold OSHA 510 and 511 certifications in Construction and General Industry, along with my Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) credential. My industry experience includes construction, manufacturing, chemical, and steel operations. My leadership focus is on delivering sustainable improvements and return on investment through hazard identification, administrative and engineering controls, and continuous improvement of safety management systems. I have successfully driven cost reductions and performance gains by strengthening procedures, improving ergonomic design, and fostering a strong field presence that builds trust and engagement at all levels of the organization.I have served as part of senior leadership teams to drive transformation—improving processes, influencing engineering decisions, and establishing safety as a business enabler rather than a compliance function.
