Girl Pack is a community charity that supplies period packs to schools, and in the community across Milton Keynes. These packs contain period pads, underwear, wipes and hand sanitizer. The packs allow children in school to feel clean and prepared for lessons and families in the community who are struggling financially to feel able to deal with what life throws at them. My role includes the full running of the charity from social media promotion and account keeping to events and making/delivering the packs. Key AchievementsMember of the Councils period poverty panel putting together a scheme for young people to access free period products. • Advising the government on the importance of including boys along with girls when discussing female health to end the stigma on periods.• Successful lobbying of government to provide free sanitary wear not only in secondary schools but primary schools too. • Member of a panel at Aylesbury Theatre for the Guilty Feminist Live Tour talking about period poverty and promoting the charities good work.
