ABOUT JENNIFER ENGLISH
Influenced by my mother’s breast cancer journey when I was young, I was compelled to support people who have been impacted by physical and mental health conditions. The first 4 years of my medical social work career were focused on developing my advanced care planning, psychoeducation, patient advocacy, healthcare navigation, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, counseling and case management skills in the inpatient setting. I then discovered the fulfilling nature of developing longer term clinical relationships in the outpatient setting with solid organ transplant recipients. Academia has been sprinkled into my career by teaching at the undergraduate university level. My love for helping others does not stop with humans, as you will also find me volunteering at local animal rescues.
