A significant portion of my practice is devoted to representing individuals with their estate plans. Whether it involves preparing trusts, wills or power of attorneys, I\'m committed to tailoring clients’ estate plans to fit their wishes. As a part of my estate planning practice, I\'m fortunate to be counsel to closely-held business owners, advising them on issues all types of matters involving business operation, real estate matters and succession planning. Start to finish, everything from entity formation to transferring the business to the next generation, I strive to be a trusted advisor to business owners and family farmers alike, guiding clients throughout intergenerational transfers in a practical and tax-efficient manner.I significant portion of my practice is also dedicated to the area of trusts and estates, representing both fiduciaries and beneficiaries on all aspects of trust and estate administration. I currently serve on the South Dakota Governor\'s Task Force on Trust Administration Review and Reform and have since my appointment in 2011. South Dakota has the most flexible and progressive trust laws in the nation. My experience with these unique laws related to directed trusts, trust reformation, decanting and modification provides meaningful benefit to my clients. My husband Jon is a fourth-generation South Dakota farmer. We live on the farm with our two children. In my spare time I like to volunteer for numerous church and community activities. I currently serve as the Vice Chair of the Avera McKennan Foundation Board and am also the Vice President of the board of directors for Volunteers of America – Dakotas Foundation, Inc.
