About Jennie Evans
Jennie has worked in the healthcare design industry for over 30 years serving to develop strategic and best practice operations for national and international healthcare facilities. A registered nurse with a Master of Business degree in international business, Jennie works as the Global Development Director of HKS’ Community Sector. HKS is the 3rd largest firm in the world with over 1500 staff and 26 offices. The Community Sector comprises over 50% of the firm’s $495.5 million revenue generated. Her role requires close collaboration with national and international architectural practice leaders of health, life science and education to oversee strategic relationship development, create new lines of business and stimulate thought leadership for new and existing clients. Jennie has published, presented, and implemented research to discover the relationship between healthcare provider efficiency and design of the built environment. She has served as the President of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design and was awarded HCD 10 in 2014 for Executive Association leadership. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Clemson University and serves as a Board member for Clemson University’s School of Nursing Academy for Excellence in Healthcare Design. Her diverse background in nursing, population health and business development brings a unique perspective to the design industry. Jennie is passionate about the health and well-being of our cities, homes, and workplaces. An innovator and change agent, she believes opportunities exist to integrate the approaches of the health system and the community to eliminate health disparities. A graduate of Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Canadian and American citizen, Jennie enjoys being outdoors, exploring, and traveling. Her friends would say her attitude is joie de vivre.
