ABOUT JENNELL VICK

Hi, I’m Dr. Jennell Vick, President & CEO of Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (CHSC), the nation’s oldest hearing, speech-language, and deafness center.I started my career as a student speech pathology trainee at Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center — and I’ve never stopped learning, growing, and pushing boundaries. Over the past decade, I’ve led CHSC through transformational milestones: relocating our headquarters to Midtown Cleveland, establishing a freestanding Community Center for the Deaf in Parma Heights, and launching Project ELLA (Early Language and Literacy for All) to break cycles of intergenerational poverty through public health messaging about the importance of language development and by providing no-cost care to children, birth to age 5, at our Cleveland Headquarters. What drives me? The belief that everyone deserves connection — the right to be seen, heard, and understood in whatever way they communicate. My leadership blends science, strategy, and storytelling: Using data visualization to turn impact into insight that funders, partners, and peers can see. Growing a culture of kindness that begins inside and extend to the community, creating future leaders who can sustain our mission and values for decades to come. Building bridges between research, nonprofits, and families so innovation translates into real lives changed. When I’m not leading CHSC, you’ll find me reading, drawing, painting, writing, or dreaming about cruising the Caribbean with my family. Let’s connect if you’re passionate about equity, communication access, or reimagining what leadership can look like in the nonprofit sector.
