About Jenna James

Inspired by thoughtful design and the entire product ecosystem, at the outset of my career, my goal was to learn about every facet of the fashion and retail industry. Honing my vision, execution, and leadership skills along the way. My foundation in retail was built in the boutique luxury market of Santa Barbara, CA where I learned to story-tell, style, and serve VIP clients in an intimate setting. I’ve since acquired experience working in buying, wholesale, entrepreneurship, and manufacturing, having spent the last decade as a retail and operations leader for brands including James Perse and Shinola. I currently serve as the Director of Operations at eugenie, a leading destination for sustainable fashion located in Detroit, MI. In 2016, I co-founded a boutique lifestyle brand called House of Hiatus to provide hospitality clients an alternative to the ol’ terry cloth robe, which has since evolved into a complete travel collection. All House of Hiatus goods are designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, CA to this day.
