About Jenna Hightower

I am a critical care physical therapist specializing in early mobility within the ICU, with a focus on patients requiring mechanical circulatory support such as ECMO, IABP, Impella, and LVAD, as well as those on various forms of mechanical ventilation. My clinical expertise lies in working with individuals experiencing end-organ failure or complex forms of shock that demand invasive interventions. I have a particular passion for caring for patients before and after heart and lung transplantation.Given that critical care training is not traditionally emphasized in physical therapy education, one of my core professional goals is to help expand this specialized area within our field. I am committed to educating fellow clinicians—empowering them to practice at the top of their license and contribute to improved outcomes for critically ill patients.
