ABOUT JENNA G.
I completed my studies from Marist College in May 2014, and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in environmental policy and a minor in economics. At Marist, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the on-campus print and digital publication \"The Circle.\" I was also the recipient of the CH Energy Group Baccalaureate Award for Excellence in Environmental Science & Policy Award Recipient, which is awarded annually to one student in the Environmental Science and Policy program.Now having spent several years in the workforce, most of my career has been devoted to working in politics and the nonprofit sector. In my current position, I have the opportunity to work on matters relating to government ethics, transparency, accountability, money in politics and democracy issues. During my time in the federal government, I used my communication\'s skills to advance the member\'s priorities and their work on issues such as the women\'s rights movement, the environment, consumer affairs and protection, education, and social welfare issues including reproductive rights, housing, veterans\' affairs, and healthcare.Working in communications for nearly a decade has played to my strengths of being an open, approachable person with a hard work ethic, willingness to learn and grow, and openness to new experiences and perspectives. I am a realistic optimist who believes that the power for change lies in the hands of the people, and feel most satisfied when I work for people or organizations who share these core values.I am drawn to roles in the public or private sector within a wide range of job titles because I see the importance of bringing like-minded people together to solve any number of issues in the areas aforementioned. I am optimistic my thirst for change will lead me down the path of success and making positive changes in the world we live in. My writing and public speaking skills are well developed, and I strive to incorporate social media into communication strategies and projects.
