About Jenna Fabian
I am a Civil Engineering student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, with numerous and diverse, hands-on, team-based project experience. I am an NCAA track and field athlete dedicating 18 hours a week, along with balancing a full academic schedule and a part-time municipal engineering job. I have skills in computer-aided drafting (eight years of experience), Autodesk Inventor, drafting, data analysis, problem solving, construction materials, Microsoft Office, Excel, communication, and customer service. I enjoyed these so much that repeatedly took the engineering and construction-based electives, and I knew that I wanted to continue with these types of programs and projects in my professional career. I appreciate that there is always a \"concrete\" solution to math and engineering problems, but I further appreciate that this field values new, creative, and innovative solutions even more.I attend the Milwaukee School of Engineering, far from my hometown of New Castle, Pennsylvania, because I saw the opportunity it presented with the ninth rated Civil Engineering program in the country, its small and personal class sizes, and the direct, hands-on project experience I would receive. Halfway through sophomore year, MSOE is proving to be a welcome challenge, giving me in-depth, real-world knowledge and experiences in class.I have gained valuable project experience in attention to detail, communication, teambuilding, organization, and teamwork under high-stress situations. Immersing myself in campus life through the Society of Women Engineers, the Lambda Zeta Nu sorority, and the Track and Field team, I have gained skills in cultural competency, self-discipline, and problem solving. I am eager to see how my experiences complement my future professional engineering career.
