As a front office assistant at a high-volume orthopedic facility serving over 100 patients daily, I support day-to-day clinical operations and ensure a seamless experience for patients from check-in to provider handoff. I am often responsible for opening the facility, which includes preparing charts, managing financial logs, and turning on equipment.My role involves- Greeting and checking in patients, verifying paperwork, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient intake process- Facilitating communication between patients and providers, including physicians, PAs, and medical assistants- Learning the intricacies of health insurance types, benefits, and administrative workflows- Gaining hands-on exposure to medical terminology, orthopedic treatments, and common injections and surgical proceduresThis experience has deepened my understanding of both patient care and the operational infrastructure of outpatient medical practice.
