As the State Director of CALPIRG, I am responsible for developing and implementing state campaigns, including crafting policy and advocacy strategy, building coalitions of diverse stakeholders, managing communications and media coverage, and training a team of organizers and advocates. Since joining CALPIRG, I have- Helped pass the California Plastic Pollution Reduction Act to reduce single-use plastic use and fund plastic pollution clean up- Worked as a lead advocate in winning a state ban on toxic PFAS chemicals in cosmetics- Helped build a coalition of over 100 small businesses, environmental and consumer groups in support of Right to Repair reforms- Led small and large donor fundraising and grantseeking efforts, raising $1.4 million annually- Developed communications strategies and served as the face of CALPIRG, quoted in the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, Sacramento Bee, Cal Matters, and more.
