About Jen Miller

I\'ve spent my career at the intersection of computation and drug discovery — starting with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at UCSF (trained under Peter Kollman, creator of AMBER) and a BS in Computer Science, then building through R&D, corporate development, and executive leadership across biotech.Today I\'m COO/CTO at Tornado Bio, where I lead roughly half the organization and sit on the Board of Directors. I\'m also an Operating Advisor — and member of the investment team — at SymBiosis, a long-term biotech investment firm, where I focus on AI/ML and preclinical discovery.What drives me: I\'m a lifelong ML optimist who spent decades waiting for the technology to catch up to the challenge of engineering cures. We\'re now in a genuinely transformative moment. Protein language models showed how much you can learn from sequence alone — and now diffusion and flow-based generative models, closed-loop experimental systems, and other approaches are pushing further, into the sequence-structure relationship that actually governs function. I\'m fortunate to be building at that frontier.My background spans target validation through commercial, which shapes how I think about early-stage biotech: the real customer is the acquirer or partner, and every technical decision should compound toward that outcome.Previously I led Strategy and Corporate Development at Depomed and served in Corporate Development and Technology at Amphora Discovery. I began my career as a scientist at CombiChem, DuPont Pharma, and Signature Bioscience, and have served as an NIH SBIR grant reviewer and on MyoKardia\'s Digital Health Steering Committee.
