About Jenica Rogers
Jenica Rogers is the Director of the Lougheed Learning Commons, at the State University of New York at Potsdam. In addition to developing strategy for the services in the Commons, she also serves as Senior International Officer and provides leadership for development of campus-wide integration of NACE competencies. Jenica’s pre-leadership background is in librarianship, focused on information architecture, library collection-building systems, and staff training. The Lougheed Learning Commons is a hub of non-classroom academic space that is dedicated to exploring and expanding the boundaries and intersections of traditional classroom instruction and applied research and learning activities. The Commons is home to the Lougheed Center for Applied Learning (experiential education, international education, student research, and career services), Student Academic Services (the Writer\'s Block, Math Lab, tutoring, and retention initiatives), and the College Libraries (library collections and access, information literacy, and research support). Students and faculty are annually awarded more than in grants supported by $5M in endowments supporting the Commons. The Commons is an incubator for high-impact hands-on learning projects, and is home to the Blueline literary magazine, Kilmer research labs, the college Makerspace, and the Law Enforcement Training Institute. Jenica is an avid gamer - cards, boards, table-top, mobile, RPG, video, LARP - and has worked with multiple gaming companies as a writer, logistics manager, and on-site event staff. She believes that a solid grounding in improv decision-making is the best professional skill she has - and it all came from gaming.Jenica\'s Clifton Strengths are Ideation | Arranger | Strategic | Relator | Activator, her MBTI is INFP-T, and she identifies as Gen-X.
