About Jen Cross

Designing places through evidence-based design and ingenuity to create a sense of place are top priorities for Jen when defining/developing a site. She enjoys working with a wide array of clients, excels at graphic representation and strategic thinking, and has municipal experience as a park planner. As Parks and Recreation focus market leader she is well versed in park planning, design and implementation, and enjoys working in the early and higher education focus markets as well. Jen is a 2017 Iowa State STATEment maker, a participant of Extreme LA, is a member of her church’s building design committee, and the Iowa State Alumni Association of Omaha/Council Bluffs.

   Jen leads HDR’s Site Design Practice in Omaha. Her goals are to integrate the Practice across disciplines, promote design excellence and grow and diversify the studio. She has more than a decade of wide-ranging leadership, planning and design experience in the community and education market sectors; in urban design, streetscape revitalization, parks and recreation and campus planning and design. Jen is passionate about collaborative design as a way to regenerate the spirit of place by fusing natural systems and the built environment
