About Jennifer Cook
Heart failure is a major medical concern – more people die from it than from ALL cancers combined. It’s become my mission to improve heart failure outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. I am passionate about building collaborative networks that deliver evidence based care and improve quality of life. As Professor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati I attend in the cardiovascular intensive care unit providing advanced heart failure patient care, collaborating with excellent team of specialists and mentoring the future leaders in medicine. In addition I have am founding a telehealth platform for monitoring and management of chronic heart failure. While a cardiologist for Banner University Medical Center Tucson, a 487-bed teaching hospital, I designed patient-centered programs, implemented a telehealth network for ambulatory heart failure management, and treated patients. I taught cardiology trainees in advanced heart failure, heart transplant, and mechanical circulatory support (MCS), and also headed a LEAN quality improvement initiative.Previously, I served as medical director of the left ventricular assist device program at the Medical University of South Increased patient volumes and improved outcomes after revamping heart transplant program. Presented on heart failure trends at 70+ national and international conferences. Served as Associate Editor of Circulation: Heart Failure.
