About Jen Gallagher
I am a registered landscape architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and LEED accredited professional with 27 years of professional experience. I am also a principal and partner at Studio for Spatial Practice. Originally trained in architecture and urban design, my transition into landscape architecture grew out of my interest in the relationship of structure and motion in the natural and built environment as witnessed through the lens of design. Previously I worked with LaQuatra Bonci Associates on projects in the United Kingdom, India and throughout the United States. My dedication to sustainable landscapes is evident in my various LEED accredited projects including my work on the Environmental Center at Frick Park, a project pursuing the Living Building Challenge. I was a serving member of CDAP- Contextual Design Advisory Panel for the City of Pittsburgh. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor I have taught third year architecture studio at Carnegie Mellon University as well as Architecture Summer Camp at the University of Notre Dame. Early in my career I studied urban design with a research fellowship to St. Petersburg through the Prince of Wales Foundation for the Built Environment. I also teach regular folkloric dance classes and workshops at my dance studio, Art in Motion Pittsburgh, and am the founder of the annual dance festival in Pittsburgh. I was born in Pittsburgh, PA and received my degree from the University of Notre Dame (BArch).
