WORK HISTORY
Senior Civil Engineer @Fishbeck
Columbus, OH, US
At Fishbeck, I focus on stormwater management and hydraulic engineering for projects across urban and regional watersheds, including floodplain analyses, bridge and culvert replacements, and stormwater infrastructure improvements. I apply hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater system analysis, and design to develop solutions that reduce flooding, improve water quality, and ensure long-term resilience.I have extensive experience with culvert design, replacement, and assessment, as well as stormwater modeling for both green and gray infrastructure, helping clients evaluate system performance and optimize infrastructure investments. I coordinate closely with municipalities and multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, meet regulatory requirements, and address both technical and community needs.I particularly enjoy integrating innovative solutions with practical engineering approaches, balancing performance, cost-effectiveness, and environmental stewardship to deliver high-value results for clients.

ABOUT JEN DUANE
I am passionate about contributing to efforts that make our environment healthier and more sustainable. I am a Water Resources Engineer with expertise in hydraulic studies for bridge and culvert design, green stormwater infrastructure, floodplain analysis, risk assessment, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater plan review, feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, and Civil 3D site work. Additional experience includes PC SWMM stormwater modeling, GIS analysis, and asset management.I’ve supported environmental and community initiatives through volunteer work with organizations such as Columbus City Schools’ Indianola Learning Garden and Sunbury Urban Farms. My time living in New Zealand helped shape my perspective on sustainability, where environmental responsibility is woven seamlessly into daily life, and that continues to guide my work and commitment to healthier, more resilient communities.Outside of work, I love being active and exploring the world. I once rode 90 miles in a single day through the Ohio countryside to pick peaches at a choice orchard. Among my favorite experiences are sailing on the Mediterranean near Greece and backpacking along the Olympic National Park coastline. I’ve also traveled through much of Europe, parts of Canada, China, Japan, and New Zealand, blending curiosity about people and places with active exploration. One of my greatest joys is sharing these experiences with my son, who has begun joining me on adventures.
