I am an original nerd. That’s quite an opening gambit, but whatever field it is that captivates me, I make it my mission to become an expert. Throughout my studies, when academia eluded me, creativity came through and my innate adoration of fashion and fixation on words guided me towards the career I am now in love with. I have imagined a ‘dream job’ in fashion since a My Little Pony and a pair of neon pink cycle-shorts were my most prized possessions (who am I kidding, they still are). At 33, with a far better understanding of the industry, I consider myself extremely privileged to have spent almost five years as the Fashion & Trends Editor for a successful online forecasting service and magazine, and went on to hold the title of Brand Manager for a niche UK fashion retail chain. I have a wealth of writing experience, I am pedantically trend aware and stay tuned into what’s vibing and crushing. I’m often told my biggest selling point is my personality and ability to communicate, this seems too conceited to agree with, however I do thrive on the social; sharing is caring and the exchange of ideas, words and knowledge floats the fashionable boat I live to sail.
