Professional Sabbatical to care for familyBeing the mother of neurodiverse children gives me the opportunity to stay sharp in my advocacy skills. I\'ve stayed involved in a number of activities from co-leading a Cub Scout den, being on the Advisory Board of my school district\'s Special Education Parent Advisory Group, and being a member of a Disabilities Task Force at my church. My role as a fundraiser prepared me in key ways for the IEP process including attention to detail for reviewing lengthy legal documents, relationship management with various team members, and never hesitating to make big asks. Currently honing my skills in a variety of areas including: Providing leadership, creative problem solving, balancing competing priorities and multi-tasking in a high energy/fast-paced environment.
