Oversee efforts to support state and federal public policy initiatives to increase the impact of those efforts through engagement of advocates- Supervise staff in the Public Policy department- Recruit, train, engage and manage over advocates in 68 counties with the goal of implementing an aggressive grassroots public policy plan- Responsible for managing a departmental budget- Organize all aspects of state and federal lobby days- Initiate and manage relationships with external organizations and coalitions, building strategic alliances to further policy agenda- Provide leadership and public policy training for Chapter staff and board members- Manage the Illinois Chapter Network (ICN), contractual lobbyist and public policy staff- Oversee the development and dissemination of email updates and action alerts, educational materials on policy issues, website content and newsletter materials- Serve as the liaison between the National office and Chapter regarding all public policy efforts- Coordinate all supervise all meeting with state and federal elected officials- Critical competencies include, but are not limited to: communication effectiveness, relationship management, collaboration results orientation
