About Jason Herman

Jason Herman currently serves as a Boeing 757/767 Captain and safety representative for Delta Air Lines based in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to being an active line pilot, Jason advocates on behalf of all Delta pilots as Chairman of the Airport & Ground Environment (AGE) Subcommittee for the Delta Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). He is also a member of the Air Traffic Services (ATS) Subcommittee and Delta Threat Review Team (TRT) where he systematically analyzes flight crew safety reports (ASAP), resulting in thoughtful recommendations and data-driven solutions. Jason also reviews and actions thousands of Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) reports as a member of the Flight Operations ASAP Event Review Committee (ERC).Prior to Delta, Jason managed a Citation CJ4 account as the Lead Captain based in Southern California where he operated under FAR Part 91/135 throughout North America and Europe. He is dual rated in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters and holds airplane single and multiengine sea class ratings as well as an Aircraft Dispatcher certificate. Jason is an NBAA Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) and has assisted many aspiring CAM\'s throughout their studies to become credentialed aviation professionals over the past decade. He is a subject matter expert in flight operations at Aspen Pitkin-County Airport (ASE) in Colorado and has developed an extensive airport familiarization and training program used by hundreds of operators around the world to fly safely in this challenging mountainous environment.Previously, Jason served as Chairman of the NBAA Domestic Operations Committee and Part 135 Subcommittee and continues to maintain active membership in both groups. He also participated as a member of the Purdue University School of Aviation Technology (SATT) Industry Advisory Board from 20••••22. He remains an active General Aviation pilot and flight instructor and regularly enjoys flying his F33A Bonanza throughout the NAS.
