I work on Dependabot, helping keep the world\'s software up to date: • Served as one of the primary liaisons between the open source community and GitHub for Dependabot’s open source libraries. • Triaged all open issues for Dependabot-core, resulting in reducing open issue count from > 1K unknown issues to < 500 clearly grouped and organized issues. • Nurtured multiple users from one-off drive-by contributors into becoming regular contributors to the project. • Automated the release process of the Dependabot-core Ruby Gem so it happened weekly rather than ad-hoc. • Implemented security update support for Pub / Dart. • Drove or heavily involved with upgrades away from outdated language versions such as Ruby 2, Python 3.6, Go.sum deprecation, Ubuntu 18.04, etc. • Fixed numerous internal and external bugs. • Audited and reduced the scope of things the team was responsible for by archiving numerous orphaned repos, systematizing security credentials into 1Password, etc. Resulted in improved security posture, lower bus-factor, and simplified workflows.
