The course examines the performative role that landscapes play in climate change mitigation, habitat restoration, water management, disaster resilience, and public health, as well as urban vitality and well-being. Students will develop an understanding of the critical role that nature and outdoor space plays in city building and how landscape architecture can affect positive future change.Responsible for developing the curriculum (lectures, tutorials, assignments) and teaching for a new course that was developed and taught for the first time in F24.

I am a creative team player with over a decade of industry experience, adept at solving complex design challenges and implementing sustainable solutions. I take pride in my work and am committed to enhancing the quality of life for people while preserving the natural environment.My professional experience spans both private consulting and the public sector, complemented by an academic background in landscape architecture, urban design, community planning, and placemaking. This blend of knowledge and experience enables me to manage a diverse range of projects using an interdisciplinary approach. I have successfully delivered capital projects through their entire lifecycle, from early planning, design, and engagement stages to build-out, and construction completion. Additionally, I have contributed to strategic planning initiatives, shaping guidelines and policies related to parks and public spaces in Calgary.In recent years, I have gained valuable leadership experience in hiring, managing, supervising, and mentoring a team of City staff, including landscape architects, project managers, project coordinators, and portfolio leads. I thrive on the challenge of building and developing a highly effective team that is competent with the capital delivery of projects.
