As the director of Retail Technology Services (RTS), I lead a team of 40+ engineers, system analysts, quality assurance analysts and product managers. Retail Technology consists of in-store ordering (Point of Sale) and order fulfillment (order ingestion at the edge, order routing, order printing, order status board, delivers) platforms for North America. The Services organization (Retail Tech Services) is the quality and operations division that enables continuous flow through integrated performance testing, test automation and release engineering, and increases availability through observability, capacity planning and tier 3 technical operations. We are \"Store Reliability Engineers\" that apply SRE and DevOps best practices to store edge capabilities in the pursuit of simplifying the store partner (employee) experience so that partners can deliver the level of service and genuine interactions our customers expect. The team covers 5 major functional areas for our Retail Technology platforms: Quality Engineering Services - develop functional, integration and regression test automation on-demand, scheduled, and in build pipelines. Release Engineering - package, schedule, deploy and monitor software to over endpoints. Infrastructure and SRE - design, develop and manage the Point of Sale server and database infrastructure for North America (~10200 stores). Tier 3 Tech Ops - establish and refine technical documentation that enables service desk analysts to troubleshoot our platforms and minimize Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR). Implement and leverage observability and telemetry to drive preventative actions that improve the availability and performance of endpoints. Systems Engineering - Design and implement device imaging processes, lead device security and authentication approaches, package and script SW implementations and conduct Tier 3 emergent operations.
