ABOUT JEFFREY YANG

I am a motivated, proactive synthetic medicinal chemist passionate about transforming molecules into medicines. With 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical discovery and development, I specialize in designing and constructing diverse drug-like molecules, from small molecules to peptides/macrocycles to XDCs, using creative drug design, modern med chem strategies, innovative synthesis, and structure-activity relationship (SAR) analysis. I also bring broad ADC expertise, spanning synthesis, payload-linker design, and bioconjugation, enabling me to manage end-to-end ADC discovery and development. As a licensed pharmacist, I leverage my deep understanding of PK/PD and physicochemical optimization to translate scientific insights into impactful drug development solutions, with a focus on oncology and infectious diseases.I also bring familiarity with process development, manufacturing, and quality controls, applying my synthetic chemistry skills to optimize processes for scalability, efficiency, and quality, further strengthening my impact across drug discovery and development. Key Highlights 1) Contributed to multiple oncology drug discovery and development programs ‍: Identified a potent, drug-like immunomodulator targeting PD-L1 and led lead ID/optimization through in vivo PK and efficacy studies Discovered novel TOPO1i and hemiasterlin payloads with improved cytotoxicity and efflux resistance by driving in-house synthesis, optimization, and CRO collaboration Supported the development of a scalable prep-HPLC method that reduced linker-payload gelation and significantly improved purification yield Advanced linker-payload design and site-specific conjugation methods enabling single- and multi-payload ADCs2) Recognized across academia and industry for strong research excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and reliable, high-quality execution : 2 Outstanding Research Awards at the departmental and university-wide levels at Rutgers University A prestigious New Jersey Predoctoral Cancer Research Fellowship Award 2 CMC Project Special Awards at WuXi XDCI am committed to advancing pharmaceutical R&D through innovation and collaboration. Excited to connect and explore how we can collaborate to help tackle some of the toughest diseases in human health.
