Jeffrey Whitten, Ph.D. is an interdisciplinary educator, broadcast professional, and award-winning producer with over 15 years of experience spanning media production, academic instruction, and environmental research.He recently served as Assistant Director of 22 West Media at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), overseeing the student-run television, radio, and magazine branches. In this role, he lead a team of students and staff, promoting inclusive storytelling, ethical journalism, and cross-platform media training.Dr. Whitten also teaches in CSULB’s Cinematic Arts Department, where he designs and leads upper-division courses in multi-camera studio production and directing. Previously, he spent a decade at Titan Communications at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), producing award-winning content and mentoring student creators across TV, radio, and digital platforms.He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Dakota, an M.S. from CSUF, and a B.A. in Film & Television Studio Production from CSULB.
