About Jeffrey Marschke
Currently working as an Equity Research Associate at William Blair. My work includes research on sustainability themes, managing ESG rating updates, and engaging with companies on sustainability topics. I previously focused on SMID consumer, energy and materials sectors, supporting the sector research analysts. My research often focuses on thematic topics that span across multiple sectors and are less covered by traditional sector analysts. My research has included analysis on government policy / spending, renewable energy supply chains, electricity grids, housing, responsible AI and other such topics. Previously served as an Associate Director at Willis Towers Watson’s Climate and Resilience Hub. The Climate and Resilience Hub was founded on the principle of using insurance analytics to better understand climate impacts for investors, corporations, and other stakeholders. Specifically, I acted as a liaison between our team of climate experts/modelers, insurance/reinsurance actuaries, and the Investment practice to design and implement solutions for investors. I have also worked within Willis Towers Watson’s delegated investment consulting practice where I co-led the US Advisory team on Sustainable Investments in addition to working with Fortune 500 Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution funds as they navigate the world of investing. My background is diverse as I\'ve worked on many differing projects on technology, business process improvement, and strategy. I have completed a two-year rotational program along with multiple internships spanning various industries and job roles. This has allowed me to understand different industries/team dynamics and has taught me how to quickly integrate within a team and enact positive change.

My focus is on sustainability integration into the research process of the US Growth Team. This includes a variety of thematic research projects, managing ESG ratings updates, and engaging with companies. Company engagements have been on a variety of topics including proxy voting issues, transition plans, responsible AI practices, modern slavery, and many more. I previously worked on SMID Energy, Materials, and Consumer sectors, supporting the research analyst in company-level and thematic research. Research topics have included analyzing supply chains of solar panels/EV Batteries/Semiconductors, artificial intelligence regulations, Inflation Reduction Act / Bipartisan Infrastructure Law / CHIPS Act, PFAS, and Reinsurance projects.In completing this research, I utilize innovative approaches and tools to garner unique perspectives on tough to quantify topics. Tools have included various artificial intelligence (AI) tools, legal research tools, Government dashboards, PowerBI and others. I continually find new information sources and look for process improvements to our current research process. I often have to look at the intersection of regulation, politics, and investing, giving me a unique perspective on government policy and how it is driving investment.
