About Jeff Block

Jeffrey S. Block, M.D.(\"DocBlock\") brings a twenty-five year history of medical and surgical practice experience as a Board certified anesthesiologist in full-service hospital practice. His major in Chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta included graduate studies in International Healthcare Delivery Systems in London. He then received his medical doctorate from the University of Miami, thereafter specializing in anesthesiology including fellowship training in pain management and addictionology. His successes in private practice personally caring for over patients led to his selection into “America’s Top Anesthesiologists” and has distinguished Dr. Block’s clinical career. Dr. Block is a distinguished Professor of Anesthesiology and medical education lecturer. He has served as President of the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine\'s Medical Alumni Association and provides leadership concerning bioethical issues involving moral responsibilities consistent with a physician\'s medical oath.= His lifetime achievements include expertise in the natural earth sciences as a Master Gardener Course Educator certified by the Florida Dept. of Agriculture, and as an internationally awarded horticulturist. Dr. Block directs Block Botanical Gardens; an Institutional Member of the American Public Gardens Association in Miami, Florida. He provides professional agricultural science services as Founding President of Nurturing Nature®. LLC. Dr. Block furthers the study of International public healthcare systems by addressing efficiency and safety issues through the translational research of botanical medicines. His horticultural expertise specializes in water quality issues, and includes plant propagation and chemical analyses. His working knowledge of tropical ornamental plant breeding has a generational following of plant enthusiast fond of aroids, begonias, and bromeliads cultivars. Dr. Block lectures on the contributions of therapeutic plant use by indigenous healers, and extends his ethnobotanical knowledge to discussions on applications of cannabinoid medicines currently recommended by contemporary physicians.
