As a partner in the Litigation Department of Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP, I concentrate my practice in insurance coverage litigation, representations and warranties insurance, property insurance law, related first party insurance matters, business law, reinsurance and commercial litigation in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, New York and the District of Columbia. My experience includes investigation and litigation in various first party areas, including coverage disputes, arson and fraud investigations and transactional insurance.During my more than 25 years as a lawyer, I have lectured extensively regarding investigation of fraudulent claims, insurance coverage, and first party property business interruption and appraisal, and have extensive experience in subrogation. My liability/third party practice includes construction defect matters, premises liability and commercial litigation involving business related matters.I am an active member of the American Bar Association\'s Property Insurance Law Committee, and the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice sections, along with the Defense Research Institute. In the community, I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Carroll Hospital Center (former Chairman) and serve as Chairman of the Audit and Compliance Committee for LifeBridge Health, its parent company. I also serve on the Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission in Carroll County, Maryland.I have been recognized by my peers in Maryland Super Lawyers as a top attorney in Insurance Coverage and Business Litigation from 20••••23, and am also rated by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV- Preeminent® Top Rated Lawyer in Insurance Law.
