In my role as a Senior Manager in EY\'s FAAS practice, I serve as an accounting and financial reporting subject matter resource (SMR), including providing practical insights into regulatory developments and industry leading practices. I assist my clients in the development of technical accounting policies, processes and procedures (e.g, establishing internal controls and compliance frameworks). I also develop and implements solutions for use beyond finance (e.g, process automation initiatives, key performance indicator development). In order to provide high quality support, I maintain working knowledge of a variety of regulatory and reporting frameworks including US GAAP (both FASB and GASB Standards), SEC, PCAOB, IFRS, and the Uniform Guidance. Examples of projects I\'ve led in this role include- Established a matrix of financial risks for a large, multi-location academic medical center and developed & executed a plan of remediation for certain gaps in internal controls responsive to those risks- Drafted quarterly and annual financial statement information, including management’s discussion & analysis, to be included in an SEC filing for a large, global life sciences entity, as well as managed the associated audit support- Coordinated an assessment of the multi-year forecast & operating budget for a historic higher education institution and provided technical support in documenting the appropriate use of expenditures & cash flows associated with government grants, private gifts and endowment funding- Developed purchase accounting models, accounting policy adjustments and Day 1/Day 2 technical accounting memoranda for an approximate $1 billion in revenue health technology entity- Led the development of revenue recognition models related to complex value-based revenue arrangements for multiple managed care entities with approximately $300 -$500 million in gross revenue.
