PLA is a transformative education nonprofit that is changing communities nationwide by providing resources not found in the traditional education model. In addition to serving as one of the country’s best turnaround school operators and successfully launching charter school start-ups, PLA also provides our school communities with a successful, research-based summer learning program (Summer Advantage), a successful Reading and Math Intervention program (Reading and Math Advantage), and a workforce development program (PLA University) that provides expanded opportunities for our high school graduates, along with the family members of our current staff and students. As Director of Finance & Accounting, my duties consist of the following:*Financial Management and Reporting: Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements, reports, and audits for the organization and its related entities. This includes presenting financials to School Boards, Authorizers, and Partners.*Budgeting and Forecasting: Review and monitor annual and monthly budgets, assist in budget presentations, financial plans, and forecasts, and ensure alignment with the organization\'s goals and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.*Grant Management: Manage all grant reimbursements, reporting, and compliance. Ensure proper accounting and financial control over grant-related activities.*Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily cash flow and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts. Ensure the organization maintains sufficient liquidity to meet its financial obligations.*Staff Development and Oversight: Direct and oversee the professional and technical development of Finance department employees. Ensure staff are well-trained and equipped to effectively manage the organization\'s financial activities.
