About Jeffrey Keaton
Jeffrey R. Keaton specializes in quantifying hazardous natural processes for siting, design, and condition assessment of all types of facilities in all geologic environments. He has degrees in Geological Engineering from University of Arizona, Engineering (Geotechnical) from UCLA, and Geology from Texas A&M University. Keaton has been employed by consulting firms for over 50 years, and in WSP’s Phoenix office of since April 2022 where he is a Principal Engineering Geologist and Geological Engineer. He is registered in Arizona and California as a Civil Engineer and as a Geologist, and in California as a Certified Engineering Geologist; he held the Envision® Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure from 2013 to 2019. He is an Honorary Member of the Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists, a Fellow of the Geological Society of America and of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a past member of ASCE’s Committee on Sustainability, a past chair of the Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering Committee of ASCE’s Geo-Institute. Jeff also is an ABET Fellow and past chair of the Engineering Accreditation Commission. He served on the editorial boards of Environmental and Engineering Geoscience, published jointly by AEG and GSA, the Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, published by the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, the Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, published by the Geological Society of London, and Engineering Sustainability, published by the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK).
