ABOUT JEFFREY IVE

I\'m a materials scientist and engineer who currently leads the research and development operation at Adaptavate. My engineering career has developed from detailed design and draughtsmanship to project co-ordination and management and research and development. Having qualified as a Naval Architect I spent several years building off shore race yachts. The fast paced and innovative environment suited me, Subsequently I was able to apply the draughtsmanship and project co-ordination skills I developed in a wide range of exciting projects. In 2012 I led an innovation project at the National Composite Centre (NCC) delivering some highly innovative tooling for a high production race yacht. Following this project I became an NCC employee, where I led a team of researchers and technicians. The NCC realised my passion for sustainability and supported me through my MSc in Sustainability in Adaptation which is what led me to my current role at Adaptavate. In 2021 I am honoured to be appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow for University of Bath. Recognition for leading Adaptavate’s research contribution in developing innovative and sustainable and constructive materials. I\'m proud to be leading the technical team at Adaptavate. The company has an important vision and a great collection of people who are working together to make a genuine difference. We have a supportive engaging culture where Monday mornings are anything but a chore. We have really good application of our core technology in development. If we can successfully catalyse a transition to bio based building materials the future at Adaptavate will be very exciting.
