Lead a team of 60 colleagues in Quality Operational functions, including Incoming Quality Assurance, Supplier Controls, in-process Manufacturing Quality Control, Quality Control Testing (for product release and on-market stability monitoring) and Quality Assurance Release. The function has additional responsibility for the execution and reporting out from the site Environmental Monitoring program. • Assure that the department follows all GMP, FDA, OSHA and other company manufacturing and safety guidelines through the development and implementation of standards, policies, and procedures within operational areas. • Collaborates with personnel in manufacturing and technical work teams to investigate, identify root cause of a problem and determine appropriate corrective action and preventive action. • Provide guidance and direction to peers to ensure timely resolution of product quality issues within the operational areas. • Make technically sound and fact-based product disposition decisions when nonconformance has occurred. • Raise product quality issues effectively to site leadership with risk factors and solution sets. • Develop and coordinate scorecard/metrics for measurement of the Quality Operations Team • Establish an effective program of purchasing controls to supervise and drive improvement in supplier performance. • Partner with supply chain, finance and HR peers to establish resource models for the function. • Perform annual budget planning for the department to ensure it is adequately resourced to meet business needs. • Monitors projects and help to resolve issues or raise appropriately to ensure on time delivery of all projects with management of effective risk mitigation plans and team communication. • Drive Practical Process Improvement and other continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, remove barriers to execution, improve department efficiencies and deliver recurring productivity.
