ABOUT JEFFREY HARRISON

After graduating from the University of Florida with a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, I left academia to work for Texaco Inc. I spent four years in research before transferring to the company’s Corporate Planning and Strategic Development group. Soon after, I was named manager of Texaco’s Alternate Energy initiatives that identified and funded promising new technologies for converting stranded sources of natural gas into higher value products. I was fortunate to work with both upstream and downstream business units all over the world - granting a unique perspective into the energy value chain. After 18 years at Texaco, I accepted a position as Director of Technology for Innovatek, an entrepreneurial fuel processing company located in Richland, WA. Over a 2.5 year period I wrote twelve grant proposals toward DOE and DOD solicitations and received awards for five of those. Leaving InnovaTek, I moved to Raleigh, NC to accept the position of Chief Operating Officer for INI Power Systems, developers of the Laminar Flow Fuel Cell that uses methanol to generate 10 - 100 watts in a compact system. In 2008, I started my own company, RightStart Business Enterprises RightStart has both profit and non-profit clients that require assistance in developing a business plan, setting up a corporate structure, formulating strategic plans, marketing, establishing full-time operations, hiring and raising capital. I am not a consultant because my model has me as an employee of the company until it is ready to transition to its own administrative and management staff. I currently work as the CTO and President of Pyrochem Catalyst CompanySpecialties: Chemical engineeringCatalysis Process developmentCash flow analysisProject managementEnergy technology analysis and evaluationGrant writingPartnership developmentContract negotiationsBusiness plan developmentOrganizational and leadership consulting
