   Founding Executive Director of Gettysburg College\'s Majestic Theater, a 1925 downtown vaudeville and silent movie theater where he led a $16.5 million capital campaign to restore the historic theater and expand it into a state-of-the-art performing arts center with an 800 seat performance theater, two first-run cinemas, art gallery, cafe and backstage production facility. Now in its 14th season, the Majestic is open 360 nights a year presenting more than 100 live professional and college performances, 1,400 screenings of first-run independent films, the Metropolitan Opera Live from NYC, the National Theatre Live from London, and 40 hours a week of academic classes and rehearsals for the Sunderman Conservatory of Music. In 2015 on the theater\'s 90th birthday, Gabel launched a Centennial Programming Endowment Campaign which has raised $3.8 million. Gabel is the Immediate Past Chairman of the League of Historic American Theatres with 350 member theatres, and is the current, gubernatorial appointment as Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts which provides $8.5 million annually in competitive grants to more than 3,500 arts organizations. Previously, he was the Executive Director of the 1878 Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH where he secured a coveted Federal Government grant of from Save America\'s Treasures program. Prior to leading historic theaters, Gabel enjoyed an award-winning, 15 year career in public television as the PBS Director of Children\'s Programming, the PBS Associate Director of Cultural Programming, the KTOO-TV Regional Network Station Manager in Juneau, and Program Director, Producer and TV personality at Colby-Bates-Bowdoin TV in Maine. In 1986, he appeared as a special guest artist on \"Mister Rogers\' Neighborhood,\" a segment of which was included in the 2018, record-setting box office documentary,\"Won\'t You Be My Neighbor.
