Trio Pharma is working on a family of chimeric biologic drugs for the treatment of cancer. Trio\'s approach combines a tumor specific antigen binder with a death domain activator to specifically localize to, and kill tumor cells. The chimeric molecules are also designed to interact with and eliminate tumor localized MDSC in order to overcome a block to immune function that allows many difficult to treat tumors evade immune mediated cell death.

ABOUT JEFFREY FRIEDMAN

FriedmanBioventure invests in early stage companies with promising technologies. Several areas are of interest: Genomics/nexGen sequencing, Neurodegenerative disease, Mitochondrial disorders, Platform technologies that speed drug development. Our portfolio includes more than 50 early stage companies. Thus far, we have led or co-led four Seed or Series A financings: DTx Pharma in 2019 where a total of $10.6 million was raised, including a significant investment from Eli Lilly and Company; PetDx in 2020 with a total round size ~$9 million, including participation from key strategic investors; Trio Pharma in 2022 along with Seed Folio and Nufund, which raised ~$2.2 million, Hillhurst Biopharma in 2023 which raised ~1.8M, and Trio Pharma which has just closed on an additional $3.1M as part of a planned $6M pre-Series A financing in November of 2024. We expect many of our portfolio companies to advance programs and access capital during 2024-5, and will be selectively leading and participating in additional financing rounds.
