I\'ve been a lawyer for more than 30 years and have tried cases in State and Federal courts involving real estate, construction, and general business disputes. I have arbitrated a number of real estate and construction cases as well as served as an arbitrator and mediator in contract disputes.As much as I enjoy the thrill of trying cases I believe it is often in the best interest of my clients to stay out of the courtroom. I\'ve tried enough cases to know the cost to the clients can be great, both mentally and economically. If a dispute is unavoidable, we do everything possible to resolve the claim favorably. This often means being more prepared to take a case to trial or arbitration than our opponents. I also have a wealth of experience assisting clients with their contracts and insurance programs. This is usually the very best way to avoid disputes in the first place.An optimal client relationship is one where the lawyer understands the client\'s business and can help them make decisions in accord with their business goals. With years of experience as a managing shareholder in large law firms, I understand the business side of companies. With that business sensibility, I strive to manage clients\' expectations, keep an eye on the budget, and avoid surprises.
