About Jeffrey Boynton

With 30 years in the lighting design profession, Jeffrey has applied his expertise and passion for lighting to landscapes, long range planning projects, museums, educational facilities, restaurants, private homes, transit and public works, renovations, large scale festival sculptures, festival power and ambient lighting, lighting masterplans, and custom luminaire design. He is committed to bringing complex visions and compositions to life in the medium of light and space with integrated and inspiring daylight and electric lighting systems. He has worked with notable domestic and international architects; contributing to successful and award winning architectural projects across a wide range of applications. A strong advocate for environmental responsibility he served as the Chairman of the Sustainable Lighting Committee of the IES, which composed and published “IES DG-22-12 Sustainable Lighting: An Introduction to the Environmental Impacts of Lighting” in 2012. Created in 2014, i5 Lighting Collaborative (formerly Integrative Technical Consulting) supported the development of technologically sound, clearly communicated, and successful lighting concepts and designs. Consulting services focused on the following areas of integration in the design process: Lighting and Lighting Controls System Design with other building systems. Daylighting Design and Analysis and Electric Lighting. Energy Modeling with Lighting and Lighting Controls System Advanced toolset integration (REVIT practice, Bluebeam toolsets and workflow) Jeffrey now provides support to local designers in Central Virginia as a partner in Lighting Virginia, an agency representing the finest lighting and lighting controls manufacturers in the industry.
