About Jeffrey Barkin
I am a passionate communicator who co-hosts a weekly radio show called \"A Healthy Conversation with Steve Woods and Dr. Jeff Barkin.\" With extensive experience in electronic and print media, I have presented nationally on hundreds of occasions and on multiple topics. I have learned to leverage my psychiatric interviewing skills to effectively present and interview other subject matter experts on multiple topics. A media presence in Maine, I can make known that which is difficult to understand for just about any audience.I have an active clinical psychiatric practice and greatly enjoy working with my patients. In addition, I have been directly involved in the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of numerous clinical programs including pharmacy preferred drug list development, Pharmacy Care Management programs, Medicaid supplemental drug rebates, medical and pharmacy prior authorization, radiology benefit management, and community assessment for residential admission/continuing care. I offer specific subject matter expertise in analyzing clinical trials and applying this knowledge in multiple domains including government policy, complex litigation, efficacy and value analysis of medication treatments, valuations and pricing of pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical pipeline analysis, and consulting services. My work involves state government, pharmaceutical manufacturers, complex analytics in health outcomes, assessment of pharmaceutical treatments, complex multi-stakeholder efforts (e.g. opiate/antipsychotic/stimulant drug policy, behavioral and healthsystem care policy, Medicaid, forensic psychiatry, and clinical psychiatry. Unrestricted medical licenses in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine.Board certified in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry.Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
