About Jeff Pernell

A professional drawing on 25 years of broad experience at many levels in public and private education, including conceptualization, design, implementation and executive oversight of projects; i.e. not-for-profits, startups and community partnerships. Open to opportunities engaging my creativity, information technology, artistic, and team development skills in an adaptive and forward thinking work environment.My research in byproduct optimization has lead me to help organizations turn waste streams into revenue streams specifically through the implementation of bioponics and aquaponics food production systems. Galactic Farms previously installed the SPACE 200, an aquaponics demonstration system at the University of Montana\'s Dining Services garden, and has a new home at Missoula\'s non-for-profit organization Soil Cycles. Another exciting bioponics food production prototype created by Galactic Farms is the X-30 which was created for the year long analog Mars simulation Hi-SEAS, and is currently on display at the Space Foundation in Colorado Springs.Specialties: Sustainable community systems, innovation, byproduct optimization, not-for-profits, start-ups, professional and personal coaching, media partnerships and public relations.

   I started exploring my latest creations as an experiment. I love seeing science in action and when it combines with the flowing creativity and freedom of art, magic happens. I hoped to capture those raw and dramatic experiences that burn into our memories. An emotional photograph of sorts.In an instant, the gunpowder will flash, smoke will work its way though the maze of masking, and burns will smolder. This event plays out in each of my works and each time I am always excited to see what will emerge.
