ABOUT JEFF ORIECUIA

I build and scale products people depend on, where technology and real human behavior intersect.Much of my work focuses on problems that are not purely technical. The hardest decisions are usually tradeoffs. What to build first. How to price it fairly. How to explain it clearly. And how to earn trust from customers who rely on systems that cannot fail.I own strategy and delivery for Amazon EventBridge, a service used by millions of customers processing trillions of events each week. I shape API design decisions and long-term tradeoffs, define pricing models from scratch, and spend hundreds of hours in direct customer conversations to understand how systems behave in the real world.Customer empathy is central to my work and helps me make clear decisions under uncertainty. Years building and running a business in China shaped how I think about leadership, cultural context, and earning trust when stakes are high and ambiguity is unavoidable. I bring that perspective into how I work with executives, engineers, designers, and customers.I enjoy mentoring product managers and helping teams develop stronger instincts around prioritization and impact. Lately, I have been especially interested in how generative AI can be used practically to accelerate discovery, planning, and execution, without losing human judgment in the process.Always happy to connect with fellow product leaders, innovators, and builders.
