ABOUT JEFF NEWFELD
I have a passion for building software products that change the world. With that, I love helping people and teams realize their full potential - leading, mentoring, and sometimes cajoling. To do that, I\'ve been a software engineering manager of managers for 20+ years. My technical experience, combined with my ability to zoom out and see the big picture, has allowed me to avoid obstacles and get high-quality products to market quickly. I\'ve succeeded at companies as disparate as Amazon, Microsoft, and Spacelabs Healthcare, building products that delight end users and/or change the world. And I\'ve seen people from my teams blossom and grow into high performers in their own right. This is where I get my joy - great products and great people. I started my career in Toronto, working with several companies before joining a small independent software company called LinkAge. That led to an acquisition by Microsoft and a 22-year stint in Seattle, where I raised my kids and enjoyed the best of hiking and camping in the Pacific Northwest. My kids are grown, and now I am back in Canada, loving my new home in Calgary. I am an avid nature photographer and love trying to capture a shot that tells a story or evokes an emotion. ideally, both!
