About Jeff Kingsbury

Jeff Kingsbury is a co-founder and principal of Ancora, a Washington DC-based vertically integrated investment manager, developer, and operator of science and technology real estate that supports the research and economic development missions of U.S. anchor institutions, including universities, academic health centers, private research institutes, and federal labs. Jeff leads customer relationship management, property operations, leasing, and innovation services. He has over 30 years of experience in planning and developing communities, including partnerships with leading colleges, universities, health care systems, and cultural institutions. Jeff has delivered industry leading customer satisfaction metrics and been a principal in the development and acquisition of over $1 billion in real estate, across multiple asset classes.​As an urban planner and developer, Jeff has worked at the intersection of economic development, placemaking, market strategy, and sustainability with private sector clients as well as cities, counties, and non-profits in 16 states and internationally. He is committed to thought leadership and is a frequent speaker for diverse organizations such as the Urban Land Institute, U.S. Green Building Council, Society of College and University Planning, and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. He co-authored the book, Developing Sustainable Planned Communities for the Urban Land Institute, and served on ULI’s task force on Climate Change, Land Use and Energy, as well as chaired the Institute’s Sustainable Development Council and Redevelopment and Reuse Council. Jeff holds degrees in environmental design and urban planning and development from the College of Architecture and Planning, Ball State University, where he also served on the Board of Trustees.​
